Castle Cove Park BMX Track Safety Improvements

Consultation has concluded

The Castle Cove Park Master Plan (2013) provides recommendations for different areas and facilities throughout Castle Cove Park, including the existing BMX track. One of the specific recommendations from the Master Plan is to improve the safety of the track and provide a greater diversity of rider levels. This has been addressed in the improvements plan along with the other objectives to:

“Prepare a Landscape Plan for the BMX track area to establish locations for the following:

  • Buffer planting for visual amenity
  • Barriers and signage to provide safety for all park users
  • Seating
  • Garbage and recycling bins
  • A drinking fountain and tap for track maintenance
  • Tool storage for minor track maintenance
  • Areas of the track to be improved for safety and to cater for a greater range of riding levels.”

In response to the recommendation, Council engaged a specialist BMX consultant to prepare a Safety Improvement Plan for the track.

We would like to invite you to comment on the Safety Improvement Plan for the track.

The submission period will close at 5pm, Friday 4th December 2015.
