What is a Community Recycling Centre (CRC)?

Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) are drop-off centres for common ‘household problem wastes’ that can’t be collected via council kerbside waste and recycling collection services.

What can I drop off at the CRC?

A new Centre is being established in Artarmon and will allow householders to drop off their problem wastes free of charge.

Centres will accept:

  • Water-based and oil-based paints
  • Motor oils and other oils
  • car batteries and household batteries
  • gas bottles and fire extinguishers
  • fluorescent globes and tubes
  • smoke detectors
  • televisions and computers

How is this initiative funded?

This is a NSW EPA Waste Less, Recycle More initiative funded from the waste levy. Visit www.epa.nsw.gov.au/recyclingcentres to find out more.
