You are invited to view and make comment on the DRAFT Sugarloaf Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan.

The Draft Study and Plan have been undertaken in accordance with the NSW Government’s Floodplain Development Manual and will provide a framework for the future management of flood liable lands within the Sugarloaf Creek catchment.

The Study determines the magnitude of the existing flood risks and investigates a range of possible management measures such as development controls, construction of retarding basins, upgrading of the underground pipe system, flood warning and evacuation procedures in time of flood.  The Plan assesses those measures against the economic, social and environmental criteria and ultimately recommends measures that are proposed to be undertaken by Council with funding from Council and the NSW Government.

Feedback from residents and other interested parties will be used in finalising the Study and Plan for Council adoption.
