Willoughby Online Community - June/July Discussion

This consultation has concluded.

We recently concluded 3 major consultations. The Willoughby Leisure Centre Master Plan was a highlight and we wish to thank everyone for their time.

The last formal Council meeting will be held on Monday 6 August prior to the local government elections - Saturday 8 September.  In the interim Council goes into what's called “care taker" mode.

This means while all of our activities are ongoing our Council is restricted in regards to the decisions they can resolve.

However, the Willoughby Online Community will continue as usual and we would encourage your ongoing contribution to the online community. All the information you give us will assist us to provide better services, information and consultation.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to date. The success of the online panel has been noted by other local councils thanks to the contribution of Willoughby residents and visitors.

  • Council has recently undertaken a number of economic development initiatives such as the introduction of a business section on the Council website, a home based business survey and several business networking events. Council would love your feedback about business in the Willoughby area:

    • Do you run a business?
    • What further initiatives for business would you like to see Council undertake?
    • What would you like to see on Council's business webpage?
    • What is the most important thing Council can do to develop the local economy?

  • Council is thinking about what garbage and recycling services you may need and is interested in what you think. We are committed to looking after our environment by making sure :

    • The amount of garbage we send to the landfill continues to reduce
    • Harm to the environment is avoided
    • We treat waste as a resource by avoiding making it wherever possible and reusing, recovering and recycling as much as possible.

With these factors in mind please tell us what else Council can do to meet your needs when it comes to garbage and recycling services?
