Robert Street Park Improvements - Draft Plan

Consultation has concluded

In response to comments received during consultation undertaken with local residents and park users, a Draft Plan for the Robert Street Park, Artarmon has now been prepared.

The Draft Plan incorporates:
  • New play equipment for toddlers and younger children;
  • Level softfall areas with defined spaces for different play experiences;
  • A new footpath linking the park entry to the playspaces;
  • A new seating;
  • A drinking fountain; and
  • Refurbished grassed area and new planting throughout the park.

Council has endorsed Elsie Wearn Park as the new name for the park to
commemorate Dr Elsie Okey (nee Wearn), who was Artarmon’s first female dentist, practising in Artarmon from 1945 to 1975. Elsie was a pioneer for women in dentistry, and was the first registered Pedodontist (dentist for children) in NSW.

We would like to invite you to have your say about the Draft Plan naming of the park as Elsie Wearn Park.

The submission period will close at 5pm, Friday 20 February 2015.
