Update

Thank you for your feedback. This proposal was implemented after consideration and endorsement by the Local Traffic Committee on 18 October 2017 and approval by Council on 12 February 2018. The works were completed in mid 2018.

Background

Willoughby City Council is seeking your feedback before 5pm Friday 8 September 2017 on a proposal to replace the existing Restricted Parking Area restrictions in Talus Street Reserve car park with four hour parking (4P) restrictions during 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am to Midday (12pm) Saturday.

Talus Reserve is a park including walking paths, eight tennis courts, car parking area, amenities building, landscaping and public toilets. Willoughby City Council is the Manager of the Talus Street Reserve Trust (R73306), pursuant to the Crown Lands Act 1989. The car park has thirty six (36) car spaces including one accessible parking space .

Talus Reserve is located close to St Leonards Train Station and attracts commuters and others seeking all day parking which has led to an insufficient number of car spaces for patrons of the tennis courts. The proposed parking restrictions will aim to discourage long term parking in the 36 space car park, enable patrons of the Northern Suburbs Tennis Association to utilise the car park for short term use and reduce parking in nearby residential streets.
