Thomson Park Draft Master Plan

Welcome

In response to comments received during consultation undertaken with local residents and park users, a Draft Master Plan for Thomson Park, Artarmon has now been prepared. 

Some of the main actions of the Master Plan include:

  • Replacement of the existing grass sportsground with synthetic turf surfacing to ensure that an appropriate surface is provided to cope with current and future use.
  • An upgrade of the sportsground floodlighting to ensure the lighting complies with the current Australian Standards for sports lighting;
  • Outdoor fitness equipment and a multi-use ball court to provide additional activity options for a range of age groups;
  • A playground upgrade to cater to a wider range of ages and abilities;
  • A number of options for a new/updated park building to provide for the short, medium and long term use of the park including public amenities, sports club use and child care needs;
  • A bicycle link through the park, as per the Willoughby Bike Plan;
  • Additional car parking spaces for park users, located on Reserve Road; and
  • Upgraded and additional footpaths and seating opportunities throughout the park.

The submission period will close at 5pm, Friday 14 March, 2014.
