Volunteer Strategy 2016 - 2021

Consultation has concluded

Willoughby City Council is presently seeking feedback on the Draft Volunteer Strategy 2016-2021.

Volunteers provide a wide range of valuable services to Willoughby's social, environmental and cultural well-being. Volunteers are City Ambassadors, who positively shape our community through generosity and compassion. The time, skills and expertise that exist among those who live, work and study in Willoughby are among our City’s greatest assets.

Some of the areas in which Council enlists the assistance of volunteers include:

  • Aged Care and Social Support
  • Bushcare
  • Library
  • MOSAIC Multi Cultural Centre
  • Performing Arts

Council has a duty to ensure that the activities in which volunteers are engaged are rewarding for them personally and that they have a safe and supportive working environment. The Draft Volunteer Strategy seeks to ensure a mutually beneficial relationship between our volunteers and Council, whilst ensuring volunteer partnerships contribute to achieving Council vision and objectives.

Most importantly, the Volunteer Strategy enhances the experience for our generous and hardworking volunteers, and supports future generations of volunteers to make their own positive contribution to our City.
