Waste Calendar Survey

Consultation has concluded

The Willoughby City Council annual waste calendar is currently posted to every household within the local government area (28,000 households) at a cost of $30,000 per year ($16,000 in printing costs and $14,000 to post). With the cost of postage set to increase by 47%, this figure will rise to at least $36,000 in the 2016/17 financial year.

All information provided in the calendar is available on Council’s website or via direct assistance through Council’s Help and Service Centre.

Council is striving to continuously improve the provision and resource efficiency of the services we provide. As part of this improvement, council are proposing to only post calendars to those households that specifically request a hard copy. When this system was trialled in 2012, only 400 households opted for a hard copy (1.4%).

We would be interested in your feedback on permanently implementing this approach.
