  • Complete a Short Survey below OR
  • Tell us Your Idea below for the future Land Use Vision of Willoughby.

We want to know:

  1. If you believe the Our Future Willoughby 2028 Vision is appropriate as it stands for the Willoughby Local Strategic Planning Statements (LSPS), Land Use Vision?
  2. What is most important to you when it comes to the future ‘Land Use’ of Willoughby?
  3. What land use planning issues need to be addressed to achieve this Vision?

Your feedback will help us develop a Vision specific to Willoughby land use for our LSPS.

About Local Strategic Planning Statements (LSPS)

In March 2018, new amendments to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act) introduced requirements for councils to prepare and make Local Strategic Planning Statements (LSPS). The LSPS will set our land use vision, and planning principles, priorities, and actions for the next 20 years.

The statement will express the desired future direction for housing, employment, transport, recreation, environment and infrastructure for the Willoughby LGA as a whole, and guides the content of Council’s Local Environmental Plan (LEP) and Development Control Plan (DCP).

Council has engaged early and extensively in this process through the development of background planning studies and strategies. Community feedback received during the development of Willoughby Council’s Strategic Planning directions (currently in the 3rd round of consultation for Local Centres and Housing) combined with the Willoughby’s Community Strategic Plan (Our Future Willoughby 2028) will be incorporated into the development of a Draft LSPS. The Statement will be on exhibition towards the middle of 2019.

The LSPS is required to be consistent with the Greater Sydney Commission’s North District Plan and Councils Community Strategic Plan (CSP). The Statement requires approval by the Greater Sydney Commission and must be considered in the preparation of LEPs and DCPs. It may also support Council’s consideration and determination of development applications.
