On 27 June 2022, Council adopted a Bales Park Playground Improvements Plan.

This followed two rounds of community consultation. The first round of consultation, in 2021, was used to help develop the draft plan. A second round of consultation was then held in 2022 to seek comments on the draft plan.

The plan includes a new slide, trampoline, train, sandpit area, climbing structure, voice tubes, swing set and renewal of existing furniture. The existing circular pathway and fencing have been retained.

The draft Master Plan for the whole of Bales Park will be developed at a later date, and the community will be notified when it is available for public exhibition.
