Community Voice Panel

Do you have great ideas about how we should plan for the future and do you want to be involved in Council projects?
Council makes decisions every day that affect your local parks, roads, events, and neighbourhood spaces.
That’s why we’re launching the Community Voice Panel, a new and fun way for you to get involved, share your thoughts, and help shape the future of our community.
What is a community panel?
A community panel is an established group of individuals who share their views and feedback on particular issues, plans or projects typically to inform decisions made by Council.
The intention for the Community Voice Panel is to be a sounding board for Council projects. Whether you rent or own, speak another language at home, own a business, commute daily or work locally, your voice belongs in the room. This isn’t just about surveys and meetings, it’s about you having a say in what happens next.
What would I be expected to do?
By nominating yourself for the Community Voice Panel, you would be expected to attend four meetings a year either in the evenings or weekends and bring your lived experience, insights and ideas to the table.

Additional opportunity - help plan and recruit for the Community Voice Panel
Prior to establishing the Panel, we will be running two deliberative forum sessions with 20 community members. These sessions will allow you to have input into the planning stage of the Community Voice Panel, help to recruit community members that we don't usually hear from and shape how you want the panel to run. It will solidify your place on the Community Voice Panel when it commences. This opportunity is optional.
If you take up this opportunity, we ask you to attend both sessions:
• Forum 1 - Thursday 19 June 5.30-8.30pm
• Forum 2 - Thursday 3 July 5.30-8.30pm
