Public notice – Presentation of Financial Statements at November Council meeting
as per Section 418 (3) of the Local Government Act.
In accordance with Section 418 (3) of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW),Willoughby City Council advises that the Ordinary Council meeting to be held on 17 November 2025 will include the presentation of the audited Financial Statements and the Auditor’s Reports for the year ending 30 June 2025.
About the Financial Statements
The statements set out the financial performance, financial position and cash flows of the City of Willoughby for the financial year ending 30 June 2025. They also contain explanatory notes for the major components of income and expenditure and the financial position of assets and liabilities.
The annual Financial Statements comprise:
- General purpose financial statements
- Special purpose financial statements
- Special schedules.
Our Financial Statements are prepared in line with Australian accounting standards and interpretations from the Australian Accounting Standards Board, the Local Government Act 1993 and the Local Government Code of Accounting Practice and Financial Reporting.

How to have your say
In accordance with Section 420 of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), any person may make a submission in writing to Council with respect to the Council’s Audited Financial Statements or the Auditor’s Reports.

What happens next
Council will ensure that copies of all submissions received are referred to the auditor. Council may also take such action as it considers appropriate with respect to any such submissions including the giving of notice to the Departmental Chief Executive of any matter that appears to require amendment of the council's financial reports.
