Willoughby city has higher than average motor vehicle ownership.

Our community has told us that they want more sustainable transport choices to get people from A to B available in Willoughby.

Electric vehicles continue to evolve with the application of new technology. This has led to an increase in the number of electric vehicles and electric vehicle charging operators in Sydney. This dynamic environment has meant that a review of Council's approach to the management and provision of electric vehicle charging services and parking is necessary.

The electric vehicle charging service and parking study will involve research, audit, technical analysis, mapping and reporting of the operation and provision of electric vehicle charging bays including a review of the electric vehicle charging market and service providers, parking provision in public roads and car parks in Willoughby, use, demand forecasting and future provision requirements.

Council’s specialist Traffic and Transport team seek to manage the high demand for parking and movement on the roads by optimising the limited road space and parking available on our public roads and car parks and balance the competing needs of our community and stakeholders, road use demand, and community expectations.
