Explosives Reserve and H.C. Press Park comprise of a largely intact 35 hectare area of bushland located in Castle Cove, within the Middle Harbour catchment. Both reserves provide an ecological corridor that extends from H.D. Robb Reserve to the north, North Arm Reserve and around to the Castlecrag Northern Escarpment to the south, and across Bantry Bay from Garrigal National Park. Both reserves provide habitat for a diversity of plants and animals including threatened species such as the Red-crowned Toadlet, Powerful Owl and White-bellied Sea Eagle.
This draft Reserve Action Plan outlines the management objectives for the next 5 years to protect and preserve Willis Park’s natural features. Actions include bush regeneration, monitoring of encroachments and increasing suitable habitat for wildlife
