Expressions of interest for the workshop on Thursday 17 August were reopened due to last minute cancellations. These spaces have now been filled and registration has closed once again.
Willoughby City Council is developing a Public Spaces and Recreation Strategy to help meet the growing and evolving recreation needs and interests of our community.
This Strategy will provide a guide for the planning, design and management of our public spaces over the next 10 years.
To date, the Council has undertaken extensive research, including demographic analysis, auditing and analysing existing public spaces, reviewing global and local best practices and engaging with community and stakeholder members.
Community workshops
To progress this project, the Council will be holding two workshops with interested community members to share some of this initial research and to discuss and refine the Strategy’s strategic directions.
Venue: Creator Space, Willoughby City Library, Lower Ground, The Concourse, 409 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood NSW 2067
Date: Tuesday 15th August and Thursday 17th August
Time: 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Previous consultation
Between 22 February and 26 March 2023, we heard from over 300 people of diverse ages, genders, and cultural backgrounds who live, work, and study across the Willoughby Local Government Area (WLGA).
You shared your ideas to enhance public spaces in WLGA, emphasising the importance of connected, activated, and improved public spaces. For more detail, please refer to the engagement summary.
