Local Business and Economic Development

by Willoughby Admin, over 7 years ago

Council has recently undertaken a number of economic development initiatives such as the introduction of a business section on the Council website, a home based business survey and several business networking events. Council would love your feedback about business in the Willoughby area:

  • Do you run a business?
  • What further initiatives for business would you like to see Council undertake?
  • What would you like to see on Council's business webpage?
  • What is the most important thing Council can do to develop the local economy?

This consultation has concluded.

I don't run a business, but would love to. Council should hold business workshops and seminars for starters, focusing on small business, esp for the elderly, mothers, people returning to the workforce, even young/disadvantaged/disabled people. There are small businesses that may not need much capital or business knowhow. Council could give ideas/business consulting/cheap financing advise, etc. I would like to see Willoughby develop not only as a main business site and tourist attraction, but also a city of artists, musicians, artisans, and craftsmen. The skills and talents in this area is varied and the potential is enormous. Let's use it!
