Consultation has concluded

Willoughby City Council is seeking community feedback for the Draft Mobility Parking Study and Draft Mobility Parking Design. The study aims at recommending and improving mobility parking design within the LGA. To help achieve this, we would like to invite you to share your invaluable insights through our Survey and leave your comments prior to closure of the community consultation period at 11:55 pm, Sunday 29 October 2023. You could also nominate a mobility space by pinning the location in the provided map.

Please review the Draft Mobility Parking Study and Design and Draft Mobility Parking Study in the Document Library.

Background Information

Willoughby Council has implemented a mobility parking scheme throughout the Local Government Area (LGA), which features designated mobility bays that permit holders may utilise for free parking. These parking spaces may be located either on street or off street.

Council has engaged Traffic Consultant, Crossley Transport Planning to undertake an investigation to review the existing mobility parking space within the areas of Chatswood Central Business District (CBD), Local Centres, Hospitals, Parks, and Community Centres. Part of the scope is to ensure compliance with the Australian Standards, Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), and other applicable standards. The Study has now been completed and we would like to share these findings with you, and provide an opportunity to comment the outcomes of the Study.

What happens next?

All comments and suggestions will be taken into consideration and will contribute to finalise the proposal. Community feedback will guide whether the proposal is forwarded to the Local Traffic Committee for consideration and Council for a final decision.

Residents can monitor the progress of a proposal by reviewing the agenda of the Traffic Committee meetings. Meetings are typically held every two months and published on Council’s website. The agenda contains projects that, following community consultation, are progressed to the Traffic Committee for consideration and Council for a final decision. The Traffic Committee agendas can be accessed by the link below.
