Project Update

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the Muston Park South Lawn area. Council received ideas for a range of desired experiences for this space from active spaces, to quiet spaces and community events. We also heard that the Wisteria Walk is highly valued and this is a key draw card/attraction for this park.

As the Wisteria Walk arbour structure will soon be in need of renewal, Council is considering saving some of the funds allocated for the south lawn in order to fast-track the renewal of the arbour structure and make improvements to help the Wisteria Walk to flourish for years to come.

The next step is that Council is looking to run/facilitate a co-design workshop early in 2024 to plan some activations for Muston Park. These may be temporary installations to test some of the ideas that were suggested. If you are interested in being involved in the workshop, please complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form below by Monday 15 January 2024.

Previous Updates

Muston Park South Lawn Improvements

Council invited the local community to get involved and have their say on the future of Muston Park. After investing in a number of park improvements over recent years we wanted to hear your thoughts and ideas on the future of the Muston Park South Lawn with the aim of working together to provide a space that expands on the current recreation opportunities within the park.

The original idea for the Muston Park South Lawn proposed creating a relatively flat level space for informal recreation such as ball games, but we wanted to consider all the possibilities for this area.

We asked how, when and why you currently use this space and heard your ideas to improve the south lawn. Ideas ranged from something simple like the type of activity you wanted to see occurring in the space to more permanent changes to the way the south lawn looks and feels.

How do I provide feedback?

You were encouraged to share your ideas in the ‘Ideas Board’ and to fill in the online survey to help guide the next stage of planning for this valuable piece of open space within our local community.

Come speak to us!

Council staff were at the Muston Park playground shelter on Wednesday 6th September from 4.15pm-5.45pm. Thank you to everyone who attended and shared your ideas.

Feedback and ideas were welcomed until 9am on Monday 18 September 2023.
