On 28 April 2025, Council resolved to trial an off-leash dog area within Campbell Park. The trial will commence on 4 August and conclude early December 2025.

Campbell Park, located on Dalrymple Avenue, Chatswood, is an open forest parkland with a playground, BBQ and seating.

The area being trialled for dogs off-leash is located south of the walking path. See the map on this page. Everywhere else in the park, dogs are required to be on-lead and please remember that dogs must remain a minimum of 10m away from the playground area at all times.

Update - fence installed

In response to community feedback about public safety issues, a fence was built around the trial dog-off leash area in the third week of September 2025.

To accurately compare trial feedback before the fence and after, we've closed the Stage 1 feedback form and are now collecting feedback in a new form called Stage 2 feedback. The same questions are asked in both forms.

Everyone who commented during Stage 1 will be notified about the new fence and the update to the feedback form.

All comments received in Stage 1 will be taken into account when evaluating the trial and everyone is welcome to add further comments in the Stage 2 form if they wish.

Your feedback on this trial will be used as part of Council’s Dog Recreation Strategy which will be available shortly for community consultation.
