The CMP covers the coastal zone stretching from where the Parramatta and Lane Cove Rivers meet, through to the harbour entrance between North and South Head, including Port Jackson and Middle Harbour. It spans seven local government areas and parts of Sydney Harbour National Park and Garigal National Park.
At this stage, the project is seeking community feedback to help shape the program's future direction.
In particular, the Sydney Coastal Councils Group is inviting people to share:
What they value most about the outer Sydney Harbour (including Middle Harbour)
The key issues or risks they see affecting the harbour now and into the future
Their aspirations for how the harbour should be managed over the long term.
This feedback will inform the overall vision and priorities of the CMP before any specific management options or actions are developed.
This work builds on stages already completed through the Greater Sydney Harbour CMP and is supported by funding from the NSW Coastal & Estuary Grants Program and partner councils.
