Pursuant to section 7.4 of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, Council has received a draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) relating to an exhibited Planning Proposal (council ref.: PP2017/007) with a Gateway Determination (PP-2021-2396) to:

  1. Rezone the land from part R4 High Density Residential and part SP2 Infrastructure to B4 Mixed Use
  2. Increase the Floor Space Ratio - from 1.7:1 to 6:1
  3. Increase the maximum height of buildings - from 34m to 60m

The draft VPA secures a monetary contribution of $2,639,479 for funding public works in the Chatswood CBD area to support the development growth resulting from the increased density at the subject site.

On 18 October 2021, Council resolved to give Public Notice of the subject VPA, in accordance with section 7.5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Clause 25D of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000.

The monetary contribution provided by the VPA, if executed, will be applied towards the Community Infrastructure works under the revised draft Planning Agreement Policy, providing valuable public benefits to the Chatswood community.
