Council is planning improvements for Willoughby Park
We're proposing to:
Upgrade the existing cricket practice nets
Install a new informal basketball court
Improve drainage
Improve landscape
Basketball court
Due to the limited availability of flat open space and the presence of surrounding trees at Willoughby Park, only an informal basketball court with a hoop can be accommodated within the proposed upgrade.
Drainage works
This area of the park is prone to water ponding during wet weather. To address this, the proposed works include drainage improvements, such as the installation of a swale (a shallow channel) designed to help manage stormwater runoff effectively and reduce surface water build-up . These considerations have informed the design to balance recreational use with environmental care and site limitations.
