Chatswood Bicycle Route Upgrade

Consultation has concluded

Council wants to hear your thoughts about draft concept plans to improve an existing bicycle route between Centennial Avenue and Frank Channon Walk, Chatswood before Sunday 10 February 2019.

The proposed upgrades include civil works and upgrades to line markings, bicycle logos and signage. This project is identified as a community priority in the:

This also aligns with the NSW Government’s aim of making bike riding safe, convenient and enjoyable.

The concept plans include the following proposed changes to the existing environment:

  • Upgrading current bicycle treatment (including bicycle logos, line marking and wayfinding) along Centennial Avenue, Whitton Road and Oliver Road;
  • A new shared path along Albert Avenue between the Pacific Highway and Crispe Lane;
  • New line marking and bicycle logos on Crispe Lane and on Ellis Street;
  • New wayfinding signage at Frank Channon Walk; and
  • New line marking in the underpass between the Frank Channon Walk and Chatswood Oval

No street parking will be lost as a result of the improvement works.

What happens next?

All comments will be taken into consideration and will contribute to finalising the concept plans.

When are the works planned for?

The works are planned for Mid 2019, depending on the outcome of the current consultation process and final approval.
