Naremburn Local Centre Streetscape Upgrade

Council is planning to upgrade Naremburn’s local business centre and provide easier access for pedestrians, cyclists, and bus passengers; and enhance amenities to improve and extend visitation time to create higher economic activity, aiding business retention and growth.

External funding has been received from the Commonwealth Government to assist in funding the streetscape upgrade works.

In March 2023, the Council released an initial detailed design.

This followed the Council releasing - for community feedback - two concept plan options in December 2022, and considering the key themes raised by community members at a workshop and an online survey undertaken in March 2022. 

These plans aim to build on the existing strengths of the centre so it can grow as a thriving, attractive and distinctive place.

The design solutions help implement the Willoughby Local Centres Strategy 2036, which was released in June 2020 and aims to promote a network of thriving, attractive and distinctive village centres throughout the Council area.
