Between 1 March and 31 March 2023, community feedback was sought on a revised draft Pesticide Use Notification Plan.
The Plan, most recently adopted in 2017, outlines how the Council notifies people if and when pesticides will be used on public land.
The Plan has been altered in the following ways:
- Referencing the current NSW Pesticides Regulation 2017
- Clarifying that Council will use corflute and A-frame signs to notify pesticide use
- Removal of community consultations for minor changes, in the future, to the Pesticide Notification Plan
- Extending the plan’s timeframe from 3 to 5 years
- Clarifying how we will make the finalised plan available
This Plan does not guide decisions by the Council about what pesticides should be used, which is covered by the Pesticides Act 1999.
The Plan can be downloaded here.
