What is being proposed at Willoughby Park?
Council is proposing to:
Where are you going to put the basketball court?
The proposed basketball court will be located on the northern side of the Bowling Club, adjacent to the existing cricket practice nets. Please refer to the proposed plan in the Documents folder for more details.
Can you have a bigger or multiple basketball court?
Due to limited flat space and the presence of mature surrounding trees, we are unable to accommodate a full/half-sized basketball court. The informal court allows for casual recreational use while respecting the natural landscape and preserving existing trees.
Who can use the upgraded cricket nets and basketball court?
The cricket practice nets will be a bookable space. The basketball court is designed for informal play and will not include competition-level infrastructure.
When will construction start and how long will it take?
The project is currently in the community consultation phase. Once the feedback has been reviewed and the plans are finalised, construction is anticipated to commence in early 2026. The works are expected to take approximately four months to complete.
