Workshop for Chatswood Market stallholders and waitlisted business owners
Following a decision at the 2025 June Council meeting, we held a workshop on Wednesday 29 October 2025 to which all current market stallholders and waitlisted business owners were invited.
The purpose was to:
1. Discuss how Council has improved the market for stallholders
2. Review the draft Terms and Conditions; you'll receive a copy of these before the workshop and we'll post them on this page too
3. Seek input for the development of future market plans
Information about flooding compensation mentioned at the workshop
Several stallholders asked about compensation due to the recent flooding caused by the burst pipe. We’ve investigated the flood issue and suggest approaching Sydney Water directly, you can complete this linked form https://www.sydneywater.com.au/content/dam/sydneywater/documents/customer-claim-form.pdf The number for the incident on Thursday 28 August is Job ID 96134471 and the smaller incident on Friday 24 October is Job ID 96644392.
Next steps
Council will be back in contact in January with a short report combining all the thoughts shared at the meeting and anything we receive in the survey. Early in 2026 we will also come back with an update to the terms and conditions, and what the next steps will be.
